Maintenance and Service Guide
caring for your silicone baby

Silicone babies are very delicate and valued collector's items that require special care and proper use to keep them beautiful for a long time.

If this is your first time buying a silicone baby, or you are unfamiliar with how to care for one, we advise you to read this maintenance guide so that it looks beautiful and stays as good as new for many years. A delicate treatment

We like the doll to be soft to create a greater sense of reality, achieving a natural fall like that of a real baby. The fact that the doll has the ability to stretch does not mean that it is resistant to extreme elasticity. For this reason, we suggest that the doll be handled carefully, especially the area of the extremities and neck, holding the head, never holding it by the extremities letting all its weight fall, nor twisting or stretching it, be especially careful in the arms and behind the knees. Handle the mouth opening carefully, do not open it by stretching, but by gently squeezing the cheeks inwards. To insert the pacifier, soak it with the lipstick included and gently insert it inwards.

Be careful with eyelashes if your baby has them, their shape can be ruined if not treated well.

My advice is to use common sense, handle him with care, dress him with great care and wash him from time to time. All with the same care with which you would treat a baby.

Special caution: Do not use pacifiers or bottles with latex nipples.

Cleaning the doll

We recommend bathing the doll for your enjoyment or to keep it clean. It is not advisable to bathe it frequently as silicone is a flexible material and its paint could be damaged, just like any other object continuously exposed to friction and water.

Bathing should be done on a clean surface. Ideally, bathing in a baby bath is best, but you can also do it in the sink, bidet or basin using warm water. We do not recommend very hot water. We recommend using a soft baby sponge with a neutral soap without alcohol or aloe vera, and if it is environmentally friendly, even better.

You can rub the doll gently and carefully all over its body, paying special attention to its head, just like a real baby, and rinse it with clean, warm water. When cleaning the face, we suggest avoiding the eyelash area.

Special hair care

The hair of any silicone baby is very delicate as it is not sewn or glued internally and can fall off with improper use. CocoReborn professionally grafts the hair respecting the direction of the hair fibers so that it lasts longer.

To maintain your hair, you need to be very careful and delicate with your little head.

Just like babies, the area behind the nape of the neck often gets bald. This happens because of the friction when you place the baby's head on your arms or move it on a pillow. For this reason, we advise you to avoid rubbing when you pick it up or when you put it down.

The hood can help with maintenance, but frequently removing and replacing it without care can accelerate the process of falling off.

To give your baby's hair a wet look, you can apply a liquid keratin solution dissolved in 50% water. This way, the hair will remain stuck together, as if it had a hold, very similar to when you had your baby. If you need to add more hair to your baby, ask us for a quote. We will be happy to pamper your little baby and make her look like new again.

Brushing your hair

To keep your baby looking cute, it is recommended to gently untangle the hair with a toothbrush following the spiral of the hair, then apply conditioner or 10% keratin for hair on the brush, comb again and let dry so that the hair is compact and stays combed longer. You can also comb the hair when dry.

During bathing, special care must be taken. We do not recommend washing the hair unless necessary. In any case, we warn that the hair may fall out depending on how it is used. We are not responsible for its loss. You can dry it in the open air or with a clean towel, gently, without rubbing.

Mattified

Our babies remain matte and soft even after bathing! Unlike other silicone babies, CocoReborn babies go through a special matte process that makes them not sticky

However, after bathing, we recommend using powder to soften the friction of use. To powder the doll, use the mattifying kit included. Once the doll is completely dry after bathing, apply a thin layer of mattifying powder using the puff and shake with the brush to remove the excess until it becomes translucent.

For some international shipments it is impossible for us to send the powder, but you can ask us how to make your own baby powder.

There are two types of mattifying powder; for girls we usually give them an inexpensive mattifying powder that we make ourselves when they buy a baby, but for professional use we recommend using a more subtle and softer powder, velvet powder.

You can find both types of powders on our website, we have different sizes available.

All platinum silicones are shiny and at the end we apply a film so that your baby ends up matte. It may happen with use or over time that this thin matte layer wears off. In this case, you can request a mattifying layer as part of the free repair insurance, paying only the shipping costs.

We also have a satin effect pearl powder “healthy glow” for professional use. This powder gives a healthier effect to the baby, since a real baby is not completely matte, but has hints of sweat that make some areas of its skin shine slightly. You can apply this powder on the cheeks, around the nose or on the nasal septum, around the eyes, in very localized areas, but never on the whole face.

In case of breakage

If your baby has suffered a small breakage caused by excessive or misuse, you can send the baby to us and we will be happy to repair it in a friendly manner so that your baby is perfect. If the breakage is larger and many things need to be fixed, we suggest that you contact us, send us a photo and we will send you a quote and a date for the repair.

For countries outside the European Union, because shipping is so expensive, it is not worth spending so much money to send and return the baby for a simple breakage, for which we recommend that you consult another professional in your area or repair it yourself. Repairs to breaks are usually very easy to repair, we have video tutorials to repair your baby if you need them, and we also sell the strongest silicone glue on the market for these cases.

We want to do everything in our power to make sure your baby is beautiful, we know that you will take the best care of him/her possible!

Liquid system

We recommend giving your silicone baby only water from a silicone-teat bottle, never latex. You can apply a little lip balm beforehand to make it easier and smoother.

After you have given him a quantity of water, his diaper will be wet!
